 Take care of your scalp.

Since dandruff comes from your scalp, take the following into consideration:

A) One way to improve circulation below your scalp is to massage your head. If you can't find a partner to give you a massage, give yourself one. Simply rub and knead your head with your fingers or consider investing in a good self head massager.

B) Avoid or seriously reduce using harsh chemicals, hair gel or hair spray. Many have unnatural substances that will dry your scalp. Also avoid any source of excess artificial heat on your scalp. Hot rollers or curling irons should not be used, and if you use a blow dryer find one that blows cool air.

C) If you use a comb, wash it very frequently. In addition, consider replacing your comb with a soft tipped brush. In addition, try to get into the habit of brushing your hair while trying not to let the tips touch your scalp. This may be hard at first but with practice you'll get better.

D) Try not to scratch your head. If you do, try gently using your fingertips rather than your fingernails. If the itch becomes unbearable, try an anti-itch shampoo or go see a doctor.

E) Studies show some regular daily exposure to sunlight may actually help dandruff problems. You can get sun by taking a short walk each day - it'll probably make you feel better anyway. Avoid too much sunlight as it may cause sunburns or even skin cancer.

Control dandruff with simple lifestyle adjustments.

Sometimes, normal lifestyle habits or ways of thinking may be an underlying cause of your dandruff.
Take into consideration the following:

1) Understand that excessive stress can cause all kinds of problems with hair and scalp, including excess dandruff. Examine your recent times and try to determine if the development of your dandruff has any correlation to stressful events in your life. Take steps to relax and fix any underlying problems.

2) Even if it has nothing to do with your dandruff, just try to improve your hygiene. Being smelly and dirty with dandruff is worse than just having dandruff. Also you'll feel better about yourself, possibly motivating you enough to fix your dandruff once & for all.

3) If you don't exercise, consider starting. Moving your body improves blood circulation throughout your body including your skull area. Toe touches, doing sit-ups on an incline bench or standing on your head work especially well because these exercises promote blood flow downwards into your head area.

Ridding dandruff with natural oil & shampoo.
A) If you don't already have one, use a good dandruff conditioner and/or shampoo. Tea tree oil shampoo/conditioner is one natural way to rid dandruff. Or you can mix tee tree oil or lavender essential oil into your current shampoo. If you're really serious about your dandruff, don't let money be an issue - you'll probably get what you deserve if you buy the 99 cent special.

B) Every few nights before bed consider massaging your scalp with either warm castor oil or normal temperature coconut oil. Leave the oil on during the night and shampoo it out when you awaken.
