& folk remedies to help soften your callus manually.
Be careful not to cause bleeding which could lead to infection (and
a bathroom mess!). Soften your calluses by performing any of the
following:
A)
Apply Aloe vera cream or
Aloe Vera extract plant liquid directly on the
callus. Use as needed for duration of the condition.
C)
Soak your feet in hot or warm soapy water. Soak for about 15 minutes
at least twice daily.
D) When
bathing, you can rub your callus with a
pumice stone.
E) When not bathing consider rubbing with
special callus sandpaper. Also a
callus file can be used to smooth
down rough or tough patches safely.
F)
Mix 3 parts baking soda with 1 part water and apply the paste in a
massaging motion on your feet.
G)
Crush a garlic clove and mix with one teaspoon each of lemon juice
and dried chamomile. Apply mixture over callus.
H)
Overnight, tape a vinegar soaked cotton ball over the callus. Remove
in the morning followed by a rub with a
pumice stone.

Using
the right shoes & socks.
Pay
attention to the types of shoes and socks that you use.
Keep in mind the following:
A)
Shoes should fit properly (not too tight or too loose). Take your
time buying the right shoes and try to shop around mid-day - this is
the time your feet are the largest. Shoes that have a good shock
absorbing sole work best. Try not to make cost an issue - buying the
'right' shoe is a small price to pay to keep from developing
calluses.
B)
Like shoes, socks are also important and should fit comfortably.
Thicker than normal socks are preferred. Click to shop for callus socks.
C)
Another pain-relief or prevention measure is to use some type of
padding inside your shoe or under your socks.
Moleskin padding, cotton or lamb's wool padding all work well.
Gel cushions can also be placed over
calluses to help you walk around without pain. but make sure you
don't use so much that your shoes fit too tightly.
Can
diet & dietary supplements help calluses?
Increase consuming foods high in zinc
and essential fatty acids. These foods include fish
as well as nuts & seeds that have not been roasted, especially
pure pumpkin seed and pure sunflower seed. If you can't eat
foods with zinc you can take
zinc supplements. Use 30 mg of zinc
and a tablespoon of
flaxseed oil, both twice daily. Also use 4 mg of
copper per day. Allow about two months to see results
and several months on top of that for the problem to completely
go away.

find ways to take avoidance measures.
