 The effects of diet.

Diet and nutrition
can make a huge impact on the frequency and severity of acne outbreaks. Consider the following nutritional advice:

A) Avoid eating nuts, fat and chocolate.

B) Do eat carotene rich foods such as pumpkin, oranges & carrots.

C) Drink plenty of fresh juice.

D) Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins.

 Also consider ...

A) Reduce stress.
It is commonly known that there is a connection between stress and the frequency and/or severity of acne breakouts. It's no coincidence acne always seems to occur right before a big occasion.

B) Avoid washing your face too frequently. Wash the affected area no more than once or twice daily and use a mild, non-drying soap or special acne soap.

C) On the affected areas apply distilled white vinegar & let sit for up to 10 minutes before rinsing off. If the vinegar is too strong, dilute it with water as needed. Results will not be immediate with this technique - allow at least a few weeks to work.

D) Use citrus juice as you would with white vinegar (see above). Lemon (or other citrus juice) exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. This method too may take up to 4 weeks before you notice results.

 Helpful acne supplements.
Take into consideration the use of supplements to treat your acne:

A) Vitamin-A Liquid may help reduce the appearance of acne when applied topically.

B) Other supplements to take daily for acne or overall healthier skin include the minerals Zinc & Chromium, as well as vitamins A, B5, C & E. Also consider trying the amino acid L-Carnitine.

 What about herbal remedies?

Nature may be just what your acne needs. Herbal remedies are usually much more affordable than standard medication, and generally have fewer side effects. Consider the following solutions:

A) Minor cases of acne can be alleviated by applying tea tree oil, calendula salve or neem herbal extract directly on the acne (use as needed).

B) Healthier skin, in general, can be achieved by taking sea kelp as a daily supplement.

C) Chickweed and/or boswellia extract may help treat acne (take daily for chronic acne or otherwise as needed).

D) For nodulocystic acne vulgaris (a severe form of acne), guggul extract can be taken daily as needed.

E) Try using ClearSkin, a herbal gel that mixes several herbs into one (use daily, or as needed).
